Attendance News - Autumn 2017

Welcome back to the start of the new academic year.  We hope you had a pleasant and restful break. We have some exciting new attendance incentives this year and I am hoping attendance will be the best yet!

If you have any comments, suggestions or general attendance enquiries please come and see Mrs Toth in the arches. Don’t forget to check out our attendance updates on Twitter, so make sure you are following us!

At Prince Albert School  we have attendance procedures in place to ensure that every child is in school and safe. Please refer to our attendance policy on the school website. Please can you ensure that these procedures are followed at all times.

School Starts at 8:55am, the school doors open at 8:45am. If your child arrives after the bell they are late and must go to the main office where they will be signed in late. This is so we can mark them as being present in the building and accounted for in the event of an emergency.

Children should attend school every day unless they are too ill to attend. If they are ill please take them to the doctors and bring in an appointment slip as proof. Try and arrange any appointments outside of school hours.

If children are unwell in school then we will call parents and ask them to bring medication in the first instance. If they do not improve, we then may send children home.

We will send children home if they are sick in school.

If your child is going to be absent please call the school on each day of your child’s absence by 9am . Please call 0121 327 0594 and leave a message on the absence line. Include the child's full name, class and reason for their absence. Please tell us where possible the nature of illness. “Sick” or “unwell” does not outline the reason for absence. This will ensure that we have an accurate attendance record for your child. If no reason is given, this will become an unauthorised absence.
