I am writing to gain your feedback on some proposed additions to the current school uniform for September.
Currently the children from Reception to Year 6 are expected to wear a purple jumper over a polo shirt. We are looking to implement a school tie and possibly a school blazer in years 5 and 6 and we would like your feedback on this.
This change would mean that Y5 and 6 pupils would need:
As you know at Prince Albert school we have high expectations in all areas of school life and school uniform is one of them. We believe that a school uniform teaches children to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. A blazer and tie would also help to prepare our oldest children for the expectations of secondary school and for when they leave school and may have to dress smartly or wear a uniform.
I would be very grateful if you could provide some feedback on your thoughts about this change by returning the reply slip at the bottom of this letter by Friday 22nd December.

I am writing to update you on staffing arrangements in Year one for January. Unfortunately, we have three members of staff leaving us at the end of the year.
Mrs Bhatti has worked at Prince Albert for a number of years and has decided to have a break from teaching. I am sure you will join me in thanking Mrs Bhatti for her years of dedication to the children and families at Prince Albert and wish her well for the future. Mrs Maltby will be replacing Mrs Bhatti for the rest of the year. The children are familiar with Mrs Maltby and work with her regularly. Mrs Davey will still teach the class on a Monday.
Miss Arshad will also be leaving us at the end of the year. This is Miss Arshad’s second year at Prince Albert and we wish her the best in her future career. Joining us will be Miss Latif who is an experienced teacher and has worked at Prince Albert many times before. She has already met the class and is looking forward to working with the children.
Also we have Miss Symons going on maternity leave at the end of the year. We wish her all the best with her new baby. Replacing Miss Symons we have Miss Begum who has already been in to visit the children.
Miss Brogan will be the year group leader during the Spring and Summer term. If you have any questions please feel free to speak to a member of the senior leadership team.

I am sure you would like to join me in thanking Mrs Lloyd for providing your children with a good education over the Autumn term in Year 4. I am sure you would like to join me in wishing her all the best in her exciting new journey.
We will be welcoming Miss Bahia to the Year 4 team in January. She is an experienced teacher and will be a positive addition to the Prince Albert team.

People in Birmingham are being encouraged to check that they, their children and teenagers have had two doses of MMR vaccine following confirmation of cases of measles within the city.
Public Health England (PHE) West Midlands is working with Birmingham City Council and local NHS partners to make sure that anyone in the city who needs an MMR vaccination is aware, following confirmed cases of measles in children in Birmingham. Most of the recent cases had not received the required two doses of MMR vaccine.
If children and young adults have missed these vaccinations in the past, it’s important to take up the vaccine now from GPs, particularly in light of the recent cases in Birmingham.
Parents should check their child’s Red Book to see if they’ve received MMR vaccinations as scheduled, or check with their GP surgery if they are unsure.
Measles symptoms to be aware of include:
