On the 9th and 10th February 2017, Prince Albert school was visited by an assessor on behalf of Inclusion Quality Mark. During a rigorous assessment process, Mr Ireson visited classrooms, spoke to parents and children and looked at all the evidence provided by the school. He focussed on different elements such as the school’s relationship with the community, inclusive values and the role of the governors. Following the process, it was decided that the school would be awarded the Centre of Excellence for Inclusion. This is a very important accolade and a fantastic achievement for our school. There are a handful of school in Birmingham that have achieved this award. You can see a full list if you click on the following link - http://www.inclusionmark.co.uk/coe-fss-map.
Several weeks after the assessment, we were sent a detailed report from the Inclusion Quality Mark and there were several highlights from the report that we wanted to share.
“All children are valued, irrespective of background or need. The leadership and management of the school has established effective distributed leadership enabling teams across the school to determine how best to support the specific needs of children and their families. Through pastoral support, the inclusion team, learning mentors, inclusion workers and other teams there is immediate action to personalize learning. This enables children to feel valued, develop positive self-esteem and make good progress in their learning.”
We are extremely proud of this award. We would like to thank the parents who met with the assessor. They were very enthusiastic and keen to make sure that the assessor left the school with a full understanding of the fantastic work that we do for our SEND children. In September 2018, several members of the team will be going to Pall Mall in London to receive the award. We look forward to sharing pictures and news about this with you.
We are delighted to inform you that this year’s Sports days will be taking place on the dates listed below. Thanks to our school sports partnership with King Edwards we have been able to arrange for some of our sports days to take place at Trinity Road Playing Fields. We would love you to come and join us at our sports days and cheer along our young athletes.
