World Book Day is on Thursday 1st March, and this year we have decided to do something a little different and get even more creative with our costumes: we are encouraging children to dress up as characters from their current whole class text. Parts of the costumes will be made during a prior Learning for Life lesson to reduce the workload for parents and bring the characters they have become engrossed with to life. A letter with more information will be sent home shortly.
It will be great to see children dressing up as a year group, we can't wait to see all your costumes!

We are so excited to inform you that as a MAT we are in the process of creating a brand new committee at each of our schools whereby we can work collaboratively as a school community. At Prince Albert, this partnership is called Prince Albert Parent and Staff Hub. The purpose of this group is to form relationships between our school and you as parents and as a team engage in activities that will raise funds to support the school and advance the education of our pupils.
On this committee there will be a total of 9 people, 2 of which must be employed by the MAT. The other 7 places on the committee will be allocated to any willing parents/guardians of the children within our school. As I’m sure you will agree, this is an immensely exciting opportunity for parents and staff to work together. As part of this process, we are now thinking about the members of this group and what their roles and responsibilities will entail.
You are all invited to become a member of the committee, which will later appoint a chair person, treasurer and a secretary. If you are interested in being part of this group, please write a short statement in the box overleaf detailing why you think you would be suitable as part of this committee. Please include your skills, what you feel you can bring to the group, or anything else you feel is relevant.
If you submit an application, this will be circulated to all parents in order that they may vote on who they wish to be elected onto the committee. Each parent will have a vote.
All statements should be handed into the school office by Friday 16th February 2018 @12noon. On the 2nd of March 2018 a letter will be distributed containing applications from all candidates.
A voting session will be held in the Junior Hall on Tuesday 20th March 2018, where parents can cast their votes. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 23rd March 2018.
I look forward to receiving the applications and hope this is the beginning of a long and happy Prince Albert partnership.
