Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that our whole-school community are safe and well. I am writing to you regarding the Prime Minister’s briefing yesterday and some announcements made by the Department for Education this week. At this present time, school have received no further advice or guidance on the full reopening of school.
The Department for Education announced earlier this week that February half term will go ahead as planned.
- This means that our remote learning provision, paper packs and critical worker provision will be unavailable in the week beginning Monday 15thFebruary.
- We hope that all members of the Prince Albert School family will maximise this down-time and ensure some rest and recharging, ready for the second half term of Spring.
We have received confirmation from the Birmingham Local Authority that they do intend to provide FSM vouchers to cover the half term week.
- These will be distributed to eligible parents in the usual way.
Based on the current information shared by the Prime Minister yesterday, school will reopen on Monday 22nd February to critical worker only.
- We have been assured that at least two weeks’ notice will be given to schools before reopening.
- This means that school for all other pupils will continue to be our remote learning provision until at least Monday 8thMarch.
- We will obviously keep you updated as the situation evolves and will communicate promptly when reopening plans are confirmed.
On behalf of all of the Prince Albert Primary School team, thank you for the positive feedback, support and encouragement you have provided so far this half term. The staff have worked tirelessly to adopt this new approach and both those working from home on remote learning, and those working in the building with critical worker children, have made me exceptionally proud.
