Opening Hours

Dear Parents/Carers, We recently consulted you on plans to extend the school day from September 2023 following a directive from the Department of Education (DfE) that all schools had to offer a 32.5 hour week. This is not something that we want to do or something we feel is necessary to provide a high quality education. Closing early to pupils on a Friday allows us to get all of our teachers together for high quality development and support. This in turn has a direct impact on the quality of teaching. This approach has been hugely successful for us for over a decade as well as saving us hundreds of thousands of pounds in a difficult financial climate. Despite this, in compliance with the DfE and in agreement with you, we decided on a plan which would mean opening or extending hours on a Friday afternoon.
