Testing and Isolation

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

Thank you to the overwhelming majority of you who are keeping us updated with incidents of self-isolation, test outcomes, return dates and all other COVID related issues. Our number one priority, as always, is to keep our pupils and staff safe and your support in doing the above enables us to do this effectively.

If anyone in your house has COVID symptoms, the government guidance is to book a test as soon as possible and self-isolate as is detailed on the NHS guidance which follows government guidelines:

  • you have any symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste)
  • you've tested positive for coronavirus – this means you have coronavirus
  • you live with someone who has symptoms or tested positive
  • someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tested positive

We strongly advise that you do follow the guidance around testing but are aware that some people are reluctant to do this. If you choose not to book a test for the symptomatic person, then you must self-isolate in accordance with government guidance:

If you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19, stay at home for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day the first person in your house developed symptoms.

As a school, we have a legal responsibility that means we have to report any breaches of guidance related to self-isolation. Staff and leaders across school are working tirelessly to ensure that we are following all of the guidance being issued and fully appreciate your support and co-operation with this.

Best wishes,

Miss Davies
