Dear parents and carers,
It was wonderful to see you this morning and fantastic to see our pupils’ happy faces.
I am writing to clarify the procedures for the safe entrance into school. A guide for parents about the reopening of school was sent out in July. It is also available on the website. This morning many parents were not aware of the time that their child should be coming into school and social distancing rules were not followed. Can I remind you that:
- Pupils can only bring in named water bottles and lunchboxes, no book-bags
- Pupils are not allowed to wear masks on the school premises
There are specific timings in place for all year groups below. Can you please adhere to these timings. If you have pupils in multiple year groups please bring all pupils at the time allocated for your youngest child.
Entrance times:
Year 6 – 8.40 Year 5 – 8.40
Year 4 – 8.50 Year 3 – 8.50
Year 2 – 9.00 Year 1 – 9.00 Reception – 9.00
Exit times
Year 6 – 3.30 Year 5 – 3.15
Year 4 – 3.30 Year 3 – 3.15
Year 2 – 3.30 Year 1 – 3.15 Reception – 3.15
After reviewing the procedure this morning, we have made a few changes ready for tomorrow. Firstly, the pupils will put hand gel on as they enter the classrooms not at the barriers. Secondly, we are going to move the barriers further up into the playground to reduce the crowding on Frederick road. Can we please ask you to drop your child off and then leave the premises immediately. We cannot have parents gathering in the playground or at school entrances.
Hopefully, with these changes, the entrance into school will run much smoother tomorrow. Can I please ask for your patience whilst we are navigating these difficult times and trying to follow government guidance.
